FACTS ABOUT BROPHY TRACK AND FIELD

We welcome all interested young men to Track & Field at Brophy Prep. Track is a no-cut sport but practice everyday is mandatory. Having more than 3 unexcused absences will result in non-participation in all track meets.

Track and Field has a strict NO USE drugs or alcohol policy. Any team member involved with drugs or alcohol will be automatically removed from the team. There are no second chances.

Immediately inform Coach Nolan or the assistant coaches of any injury so that prompt and proper treatment can be accessed. The track season is short and intense--we want you to be healthy and in top shape in order to have a positive experience.

Meet day protocol-Home meets will usually be held at Central High School from 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Away meets will be held at the hosting school. Departure is about 2:25 to 2:30 pm and arrival back at Brophy will fluctuate between 7:20 and 7:45 pm. The schedule may vary.

You are required to stay until the track meet is over--even if your individual event is finished. Parents may pick you up after the final event, the 4X400 mile relay, at both home and away meets. Parents must sign a mandatory sign out sheet.

Brophy equipment should NOT be used in non-high school meets. You should turn in all school equipment at the end of the season or you will not be able to take finals.

Please make sure that you prepare an athletic bag with extra socks, your track cleats, extra spikes, a spike key, other necessary track equipment, sunscreen, extra contacts or prescription glasses, sunglasses, small towel, a pair of running shoes, an extra pair of shorts and tee shirt, sweats or warm-ups, extra water bottle, and a visor or baseball hat. If you have breathing difficulties, bring a full inhaler. Pack your bag the night before the meet and check it twice. You do not want to be disqualified because you forgot your shoes!
